Solutions

“We will consult with and employ talented chemists, engineers and related professionals to research and develop sustainable solutions to existing waste problems.”

Our goal is to increase the ability and desire of the people on this planet to eliminate waste by saving entities money.

Philosophy

The Wilson Foundation believes a product should not be produced if it cannot be recycled, reused or repurposed.  The Foundation’s research and development efforts are focused to find sustainable solutions to the world’s waste problems.

Working together with funders to create solutions to the world’s most pervasive problems with waste, the Wilson Foundation will:

  1.   Create an awareness of the dangers of Waste
  2.   Serve as the “Sherlock Holmes” solution provider – where companies and individuals come for solutions to waste problems
  3.   Conduct Research & Development to develop sustainable solutions
  4.   Certify that companies and materials meet Stewardship Award criteria/standards
  5.   Work with Packaging Manufacturers to modify processes to make packaging recyclable
  6.   Offer financial support for companies and individuals with ideas to advance waste diversion, reduction and elimination.
  7.   Bring the best minds together with one goal; Help Save the Planet, our Home, by eliminating Waste.

The Wilson Foundation increases awareness of the need to reduce, divert and eliminate waste.  Not only will we identify the root cause of the problem, we will bring solutions and assist in the implementation of those solutions to collect and eliminate waste from our waterways, our landfills and our future.

Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations created 17 Sustainable Development Goals as “the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.  They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity as well as peace and justice.  The Goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each goal and target 2030.”

The work of the Wilson Foundation focuses on developing solutions that relate directly to:

  •  Responsible Consumption and Production by using eco- friendly production methods to reduce the amount of waste
  • Life Below Water- reduce plastic released into the oceans
  • Partnership for the goal- strengthen means of implementation and success by partnering with countries and organizations

To date, our solutions have diverted millions of pounds of waste from landfills by finding solutions for reusing, recycling and repurposing organic waste, hazardous waste, plastic and a variety of other materials.  Just think how many more millions of pounds can be recycled with your help. Join the Wilson Foundation in the fight to eliminate waste.

IMPLEMENTATION
PARTNER

Located in Jackson, Tennessee, Doxicom Global has over 15 years of experience in the waste stream management industry.  Focusing on moving customers to zero landfill, Doxicom Global is the perfect partner vehicle for implementation of waste solutions.

Solutions

Organic
Peroxide

Organic peroxide is a hazardous chemical used to make bath products.  It is flammable and requires hazmat handling.  Hazardous materials are a challenge to recycle as is. Most of these end up in landfills, or poured down drains.  Solutions for this client included a neutralizer created by a chemist to allow the organic peroxide to be disposed of naturally in a more environmentally responsible way.

Styrofoam
Coolers

Styrofoam never bio-degrades.  Styrofoam will remain in our landfills and waterways forever.  Diversion Solutions for a client included sharing with the local community who could reuse and repurpose for food delivery services, fish & game conservation and emergency preparedness.

Ice packs

Small ice packs often times require special hazardous material handling and are not easily recycled. Again, these products often times end up going straight to landfills.   Diversion and recycling solutions for seemingly unsolvable case included distribution for use in school systems, offices and to individuals for use in cold storage requirements or for sports injuries.

Labels

Thousands of labels are printed daily for shipping packages.  They are not recyclable due to adhesive on the labels.  Advances are being made into perfecting an ink jet process to eliminate the need for labels all together.  The Wilson Foundation is spearheading this effort.

PVC DUST

Tons of PVC dust were being sent to the landfill.  Recycling solutions have included filling needs offshore, a positive move for not only the environment, but the US trade balance as well. Over almost half a million pounds of PVC dust have been diverted from landfills, providing substantial savings to clients.

Fish

Some waste problems are organic in nature, instead of going to the landfill, the solutions provided included redirecting fish in cooked and uncooked states to livestock farmers who needed those specific nutrients in their feed.

Food manufacturing organic waste

Devely Mustard & Condiment Corporation, headquartered in Germany, built their first United States facility in 2017 in Dyersburg, Tennessee.  This manufacturing location produces mustard, ketchup and salad dressing.  The sister plant in Germany has achieved approximately 90% diversion rate, the US facility goal is to divert 100% of it’s waste from the landfill.  Doxicom Global was selected to assist them in achieving this ambitious goal and surpass their German counterpart’s performance in less than 12 months.

In total, Doxicom Global helped this manufacturer divert approximately 1.5 million pounds of waste from the landfill annually.

With the assistance of the Wilson Foundation, a unique solution was implemented by Doxicom Global to divert organic/food waste from the landfill.  Not only was the the diversion successful, it represented a historic achievement for a US facility to surpass the European standard in landfill reduction.

Awareness & community involvement

Bringing awareness to the problem of water waste and supporting local communities in clean up efforts, we endorse,  encourage and sponsor projects such as the Wolf River Conservancy Harbor Cleanup.  Providing volunteers and necessary support equipment as well as recycling solutions helps to disseminate information regarding waste elimination efforts.

“We’re excited to partner with the Memphis River Parks Partnership and Doxicom Global to create an incredible opportunity for Memphis to connect with the Mississippi River.  A whopping total of 72 bags and 60 tires were collected and later recycled by our sponsor, Doxicom Global.”

Keith Cole

Wolf River Conservancy Executive Director

The Wilson Foundation is the Sherlock Holmes of waste solutions, seeking out, investigating and testing the solutions that will address our waste related problems.  The Wilson Foundation goes beyond traditional recycling to find ways to reuse and repurpose materials.  We believe no product should be produced unless it can be reused or repurposed in a sustainable way.  We are looking for chemists, engineers and other professionals to research and develop sustainable solutions to existing waste problems.  We are looking for partners and donors to help fund the battle against waste, the fight to save our planet, our home.
