You can be the change.
I love finding new ways to green my family's life as painlessly as possible, and hope they can help everyone make the Earth a better place for our kids. I'm also a food writer, and spend a lot of time developing recipes. My next project: Composting all the food scraps I generate in the kitchen!

Eighteen-year-old Alex W. has written a scientific paper documenting the potential pollution caused by golf balls deteriorating in the ocean. Her impetus: Two years ago, while free-diving off the coast of Northern California, she discovered that the ocean floor was covered with golf balls from nearby golf courses. Over the course of 75 collection missions, combined with the collection efforts of two other organizations, she’s gathered up these balls — more than 50,000 in all, and she continues to work to clean up, and prevent, this kind of pollution.
